Fiddlers' Rally 2012

Hosted by Aberdeen Strathspey and Reel Society, the Fiddlers' Rally on 10 November is a fantastic evening of music with traditional Scottish flair. Compered by Scotland's Son of Fun Eddie Rose, the evening will feature 2008 Scottish Singer of the Year, Emily Smith and founding member of Blazin' Fiddles and BBC Radio Scotland's Bruce MacGregor.

About the guest artists

Bruce MacGregor

Bruce MacGregor is one of Scotland’s most celebrated and accomplished fiddle players. Taught by the great Donald Riddell CBE, Bruce’s style encapsulates the finest points of Highland fiddle music – bold and rugged at times, lyrical and beautiful at others.

 

Emily Smith

Multi award winning Scottish folk singer Emily Smith is a leading figure of the Scottish folk scene. From rural Dumfriesshire in South West Scotland, her outstanding voice has gained her a stream of awards  including 'BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year' in 2002, USA Songwriting Competition Winner in 2008, 'Scots Singer of the Year' at the Scots Trad Music Awards in 2008 and more recently not one but two nominations at the prestigious 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

 

Eddie Rose

Singer, comedian and all round entertainer Eddie Rose also presents the Sunday morning show on Heartland FM Radio.
