As a charity it’s important to us to make the best use of our limited resources, both financial and the time our volunteers devote to running and maintaining the website.

Auditing Site Cookies

In Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge

a. Right click in the browser window (if running AppleMac use a two finger click or the control+click method.

b. In the window which appears choose the “Inspect” option.

c. In the split screen which appears choose the “Application” tab (you may have to expand the split screen to see it).

d. In the menu which appears select “Cookies” under the “Storage” heading.

e. Check “Installed Cookies”.

This will display details of the cookies set by the site and allow you to check whether they are session cookies or cookies which are set for a specific duration. You will also be able to see which cookies are set by the site and which are set by third parties.

In Mozilla Firefox

a. Right click in the browser window (if running AppleMac use a two finger click or the control+click method.

b. Choose “Inspect Element”.

c. Choose “Storage” in the menu bar at the top of the split screen window.

d. Choose “Cookies”.

This will display a menu of the domains which set cookies. Choosing the relevant domain will give details of the cookies set.

In Opera

a. Click on the Opera icon.

b. Choose “Developer” from the drop down menu.

c. Choose “Developer Tools”.

Then proceed with steps c. d. and e. as in Google Chrome.

In Safari

a. Right click in the browser window.

b. Choose “Inspect Element” (if you can’t see the “Inspect Element” option go to “Safari > Preference” from the toolbar. From the preferences go to “Advanced” and select ‘Show Develop menu in menu bar‘).

c. After choosing “Inspect Element” the developer console will open up. Choose the “Storage” tab then click on “Cookies”.

This will display the cookies currently set by the site.


Additional Cooking Management
