We held our traditional Annual Concert at Ferryhill Church this year and it was remarkably well attended. Thank you
to everyone that came along to support and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did in the orchestra.
We played several sets by both well kenned composers, notably William Marshall and Scott Skinner, as well as more recent pieces composed by members of the orchestra. Solo spots were performed by Ronnie Gibson (Fiddle) and Jonathan Wilson (piano), there was also a rendition of a Ukrainian dance tune by a sub-group of members.
Following on from their success at Elgin Festival our junior section performed several lively tunes also with several solo performances
The occasion was also notable in that the orchestra sprung a surprise on our outgoing President, Alastair Bruce by playing, unrehearsed, the tune set “President Bruce Schottishe & Reel”, and then presenting him with a framed copy of the music with our thanks for all his work over the last five years.
